Registered Charity Number 1166238

52 Lives changes someone's life every week of the year, with the help of almost 100,000 supporters. Our aim is to inspire people to be kind. We believe kindness has the power to change the world.

Each week, we share a story of someone in need of help, request what they need, and our supporters offer help.

One of the things that makes 52 Lives unique is that 100% of what people give goes to the person we are helping each week.

52 Lives also runs a School of Kindness, providing free Kindness Workshops for thousands of children in primary school all over the UK. The aim is to empower children by helping them to realise that the little choices they make every day have the power to change the world – and improve their own physical and mental well-being at the same time.

More about 52 Lives

Our philosophy

52 Lives gives people tangible help, but our philosophy goes much deeper than that. The people we help all say the same thing: that what changed their lives wasn't the 'thing' we gave them, but the kindness - the fact that complete strangers cared about them.  We believe our collective actions determine the kind of world we live in - we just need to choose kindness at every possible opportunity.

Since 2013, 52 Lives has helped to change the lives of thousands of people. These are just a few examples...

We bought wheelchairs for three young children, who had spent their lives laying on the ground and never being able to go outside

  • We paid a deposit on a flat so a homeless mum and her son didn’t have to live in a homeless shelter anymore.
  • We bought presents for thousands of children who weren’t going to get any Christmas presents.
  • We refurbished the playrooms in 4 women’s refuges
  • We paid for an operation to save a 14 year old girl’s life.
  • We built a sensory garden for a 10 year old boy who is severely disabled. So now he can go outside whenever he likes.
  • We’ve sent thousands of supported messages to children being bullied.
